I think Write is closer to printf , since WriteLine inserts newline and printf doesn't.
If you're using C# 6, you can add using static System.Console at the top of your file, and then you can just type Write instead of Console.Write . That way it's not much more typing than printf, aside from having the hold shift to type the capital W.

One of the lesser joys of switching jobs is that you get a new OS version. What I have is English Win10 with English as well as Swedish keyboards. What I wanted was to have Swedish keyboard as default . In Win7 this was a bit tricky, I think it took me 10 maybe 15 minutes to find. Annoying but not bad.
Win10 greets me with an abundance of really pretty high-res landscape photos on the lock screen.
"Nice but... er... hello? I would like to switch the default keyboard, where did you gents hide that setting this time?"
"Ask Windows help. Ask Google you dummy!"
I already did and this Super User was happy to teach me:
keyboard - Setting the default input method for the Windows 10 login screen - Super User[^]
I tried that something like 10 times over the last three weeks. Nope.
I tried to peek and poke around with highly limited success. Then, just now I found:
Control Panel\Clock, Language, and Region\Language\Advanced settings => Override for default input method
It works fine now, or at least for the first minute. I am really, really, looking forward to Win11.
... such stuff as dreams are made on

I really don't want to know what they will come up with next.

Why?
At the current rate of - I hesitate to call it this - progress, it'll be even worse. Win 8 with a Ribbon and Clippy anybody?

Minus some popular features, plus some obfuscations and plus some new features nobody wants.

So so cynical! So So pessimistic!
I've gotten out of bed on a good side this AM: maybe the next version of windows will be Window D.O.S., or, as has been hinted all along:

I'd like to think that Windows Server Core might be a step in the right direction but if I did I'm sure I'd be disappointed.

That was no problem for me. I've never had any trouble finding that particular setting.
But I do have another very strange language related issue with Win 10: I have Swedish keyboard as default (living in Sweden) and Danish keyboard as backup (because I'm Danish). The English keyboard, I have uninstalled because I don't need it, having the two others.
So that would mean that if I press Alt + Shift repeatedly, it should cycle between Swedish and Danish keyboard. But it doesn't! It even includes English - even though it's uninstalled!
I've got the same setup on two computers, but only one of them does this! Go figure!!!

Yeah, but where does the English keyboard enter the picture, that's what I can't understand...
And of course, everyone knows that Danish is way superior...

Probably they tried to get a hang on Swedish pronunciation, almost died in the process, and retaliated.

Reading this makes me both glad and sad. Glad that I'm not the only one having trouble with w10. Sad that more and more computers comes loaded with it. I can work with windows 8. I can understand Windows 8 and the need for it. To me it's almost like 7 only that I seamlessly can run my program on a tablet. Windows 10 is a step in the wrong direction on so many ways. I've had so many stupid problems on the w10 computers we have that it's not even funny any more.
Worst of all is the message telling me that all the files are exactly where I left them. Creeps me out.

Microsoft has said that Windows 10 was the last version of windows (Why Microsoft is calling Windows 10 'the last version of Windows'[^]). So I think your only choices are to go back to Win 8.1 (like I did recently) or forward to Linux.
We can program with only 1's, but if all you've got are zeros, you've got nothing.
