Today I heard our PM introduced our 'lead developer' to some passing users. And I thought to myself 'lead ignorant developer' with anger.
Then I took sometimes and reflected upon my fate...
As if it was anything new! Isn't that the all too common case to be managed by ignorant and fool? There is nothing particularly new and specially worth more of scorn with this guys that the oh so many other such like him...
Oh well, just moved on!  Back to my task, gonna play Diablo tonight!

I've just wasted half an hour looking for someone posting a celebratory message about having been promoted to lead developer.
That says something quite profound about the Lounge.

I have a HC seasonal crusader!
After reaching level 40 and killing Malthael I though.. why did I do a HC char?!

I have crusader too, but not HC. Currently I have ~500k dmg and ~10k thoughness. I just got a nice Leoric Signet with crit dmg and I am hope for crit chance from rolls .
About Malthael. I hate killing that b@st@rd with melee char. I always go range hammerdin on him even if i do less dmg :P

My lone HC crusader is level 50 now (still not paragon)
But I have 6 softcore char at level 70, main is wizard paragon 361  Doing a killing!

There's a pattern I've noticed over the years, like evolution stuck in reverse.
If things are less than brilliant the better people leave. The less-able to do so (ie. not so good) stay. Invariably it seems to be those that have been there the longest take over and climb the ladder of team leadership/management.
Repeat the cycle and management gets worse and the project the same.

Yeah, scum always floats to the top.
At BAe I had a boss who started with the company 30 years previously sweeping out the hangers. Then he was holding bits for the radio fitters, then he was holding bits for some of other electronics engineers, then he was classed as an electronics assistant (still knowing next to nothing), then he became a computer operations "assistant", then he read a book on FORTRAN wrote some simple code. When I joined his section he was "Lead Developer" and was still ignorant, wrote the worst code I had ever seen and was a protective tyrant, not letting anyone (officially) see "his" code - which drove the core of a real-time system that couldn't do much without losing the "real-time" part of the job.
He went on vacation for three weeks and the Department Head asked me to investigate the core code and correct any inefficiencies. I rewrote the core in two days (it had been ridiculously badly written, the code equivalent of a 4-year old trying to write a letter to Santa) and improved data processing capability by over 2000% so that it could easily handle jobs nearly 20 times as large and complex as previously (actually in real-time now). The flight engineers and the Department Head were ecstatic but the "Lead Developer" was furious and tried to change everything back when he returned claiming my code was "all wrong" and "I didn't understand the underlying complexity of his model". His boss told him to lay off and leave it alone. However, he still stayed as my boss, so wrote poor performance reports, complained about my timekeeping (difficult, since I got there early and left a lot later than he did) and tried to "catch me out" (his words) in anything I did. Eventually his boss told him he would ignore anything negative said about me (and everyone else - it wasn't just me) and to get with the program.
Finally, after I, and another colleague had put in our resignations (not the last to do so), citing him as the primary reason for leaving (and for a lot more money, they didn't pay well) he was reassigned to be a "special projects coordinator" working with a German partner company (slightly more money but, most importantly, outside the union system). They complained about him and he was fired immediately!
