Lucky bastard.
Turn on the radio and tune into a radio station playing current, popular music. Listen to a couple of songs. When you hear one that is so annoying it makes you want to rip your ears off, it is very likely "Happy" by that Pharrell guy.
If you can't find a radio, you can click here[^] and assume the ear-ripping position.

Now I see. Now it makes sense.
I do know the song but not because of the radio but because of Despicable Me 2. My kids liked it but I fell asleep halfway through.

...like it's going out of style.
In the last five days, I've spent $6400 on engine parts for my new anti-earth day engine.

I had a friend with one of those. He called it the 'earth killer'. It was a really nice ride though

Good for you!
I know the feeling, one you start wanting to spend, you just keep finding more to buy!
I ordered a whole new bunch of networking gear yesterday; Point2Point link, POE Switches, internal AP etc. On Monday coming, order CCTV system and also today got a glimpse of the new Evohome lineup from Honeywell so spec'd a replacement central heating and hot water control system, probably order that lot up once I finish the Network/CCTV install. All up it will be around $6.5K.
I think over the years, it would have been cheaper to build Tracy Island.
My Credit card thinks its kidneys are bleeding.....again.

So far this week, I've received three phone calls from the fraud prevention department, despite the fact that each purchase was almost immediately followed up by a payment to cover the charge...
I wonder why their fraud detection software ain't smart enough to notice that...

That's because the prompt payment is actually a red flag. In the old days, fraudsters could run up charges on your card, send in a payment (paper check drawn on non-existent or closed account) that posted to the account so they could run up even more changes. The check bounces - leaving you with a card whose balance is twice the credit limit.

Well, I assume Jaysop is doing a direct bank-transfer (checking to credit card).
|
|
|
|
|
Actually, the card and the checking account are at different banks, and I'm withdrawing cash, walking two doors down, and making the payment, so it's not like it's a transaction that has some sort of "delay to verify funds" thing. My payment receipt even says "cash" on it, so they know it was a cash payment.

So itis not just the speed of payment but how the payment was made - scope creep!

Hello Sir,
Its much better than spending about 3000 Rs a month on cigarettes. I am tired of it now.
Thanks a ton,

Detroit ain't gonna benefit in the slightest.
All the money goes to the aftermarket and labor. Which brings up an interesting question (interesting to me anyway) - How many different manufacturers will be represented?
Dart (block)
Air Flow Research (heads)
TrickFlow (cam)
Wiseco (pistons and rings)
RPM (crankshadft, connecting rods)
Clevite (main/rod bearings)
Fel-Pro (gaskets)
COMP (timing set and pushrods)
Ford Racing (valve covers, air cleaner, lifters, lifter spider kit, plug wires)
MSD (ignition module, coil, and distributor)
QuickFuel Technologies (carburetor)
Melling (oil pump and cam thrust bearing)
Moroso (oil pan, pickup, dipstick)
Tremec (transmission)
RAM (clutch and flywheel)
Exedy (throwout bearing)
Ford (pedal assemblies from earlier cars, crank trigger wheel from earlier car, trans cross member, head gaskets, and timing chain cover)
Edelbrock (intake manifold)
Accufab (custom headers)
ARP (bolts, studs, and other fasteners)
Milodon (oil pan studs)
Aeromotive (fuel pressure regulator)
AED (throttle cable bracket)
Fragola (fuel line and various fittings)
Parker (fuel line)
Scorpion (rocker arms)
Crane (valve springs)
NGK (spark plugs)
Spicer (u-joints)
Strang (trans and rear end driveshaft yokes)
BMR (K-member)
Gates (belts and hoses)
Another thing that kinda smacks you in the face is how many parts it takes to build an engine from nothing. I don't even have spare nuts and washers that applicable, so I have to buy *everything*. I think when it's all said and done, the motor will be right at $11k. Effectively, nothing but the radiator will be retained, and we may even just go ahead and replace that.
