I seen a video yesterday somewhere of somebody playing "anti-wordle", which seems to be what you are looking for.
I don't play, so I haven't tried to look for it myself, but I am sure Google can get you where you need to be.

"The better you get at Wordle, the less time the problem amuses you for."
I find the same for Sudoku as well. Perhaps that's true for most puzzles (except CCC of course!)

It already limits you to real words. Having to use letters that you already know, but not necessarily in known locations, is "hard mode". I play that now and also try to do what you describe. I'm now on a streak of 121 in Ravi's version and recently ran into QUEUE.
Hard mode (at least in Ravi's version) has a smaller set of words that removes most plurals and past participles, which can make choosing a follow-up challenging. In the daily, my average hovered around 3.7 before switching to hard mode. Ravi's game doesn't track history, but I'd guess my average is around 4.3 playing the way you describe.

Does Wordle use plurals? I've only been playing a couple of months, but so far I've not seen one as the answer.
If you think 'goto' is evil, try writing an Assembly program without JMP.

I switched Ravi's version (which he says uses Wordle's word list) to Easy and also Standard, and both of them accepted LIONS as the first guess. A word not in the list gets rejected, so the answer is probably that Wordle has plurals. But I don't recall seeing one as the daily word either.

Couldn't do that, completion issues.
Wordle is like the game Mastermind but with letters instead of colors.
I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

That was also my first reaction, although the difference is that the guess has to be a proper word.

Rolo Tomassi - Prescience[^]
A friend recommended Rolo Tomassi's new album last week.
The name Rolo Tomassi sounds exotic, but they're from Sheffield, England, and all members have pretty English sounding names.
According to Wikipedia, their name is taken from a dialogue in the film L.A. Noir.
I can't say I'm familiar with their previous work, but apparently it's quite chaotic.
What I hear on this album is something between dream pop and black metal, or post-black metal.
Other terms I see are mathcore, post-hardcore, experimental and noisecore.
Whatever it is, it's not easily categorized.
This track is one of the harder ones on the album, but I just love the beginning of the track with the weird time signature.
According to the band, this song "feels very 'Hans Zimmer'" and "feels like the soundtrack to a Christopher Nolan film!"
I don't hear Zimmer or Nolan myself, but nevertheless this is song (and album) of the week

Noise of the week perhaps? (Not my style but thank you for sharing)

We've already had some actual noise in the SOTW: The Lounge[^]

Didn't know them, but I'm pretty sure I'd have found them sooner or later, as this is pretty much the sort of music I've been listening to lately

The cookie monster vocals ruin it for me, but the instrumentation is interesting and masterfully played.
Zimmer might have influenced the slow, instrumental break in the middle, but yeah, I don't hear him, either.
The next track that came up for me, Almost Always, was much easier on the ears, vocally.

TNCaver wrote: Almost Always, was much easier on the ears, vocally. Yeah, that's the first track on the album, there are more tracks like that.
It's the dream pop side of the album, although the background is pretty noisy at times.
The piano part on that track is a pretty big contrast with my SOTW, yet they're on the same album

OBLIVION ...?
Nothing leads = O
Best = B ???
violin = LIVION smashed = oblivion
I don't think I've got the method quite right, but hopefully the end result is!

I like what you did,
But I think that nothing = OBLIVION and smashed is an anagram indicator. "Leads to" indicates the first letter of "best" perhaps.

Leads to is plural, so the beginning letters of both Our and Best

You got the rest of it, so you get partial credit (and upvote) for that.
The way I planned it was:
Nothing
leads to our best OB
violin VIOLIN
being smashed (anag)
OBLIVION
Well done!

I don't think it was easy, at least as a non native speaker it's rare to hear/read that word. I read it only once in my lifetime, in a (terrible) meme.
