For the first time in almost 10 years I noticed the FAQ (question mark next to "New Discussion").
I like two things about it:
1. How it mentions Netscape and IE4.
2. This comment[^] by @TheGreatAndPowerfulOz
A friend of mine watched it about two weeks ago, borrowed my DVD actually, and both him and his girlfriend loved it.
We can continue to be friends

Under the menu "help" is "General FAQ" too... and it has more content.
Just in case...

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

I really didn't need a FAQ.
I was just curious and then surprised to find Netscape, IE4 and some movie wisdom

Definitely one of my favourite films of all time. I like to think it's not just a nostalgia kick either, I think films of the 80s (and earlier) just seem to be better made than a lot of films these days.
Before CGI came in and put a "best before date" on films.

There are some really great newer movies too.
I mean, CGI or not, some of those older movies haven't really matured well either
And some are still fun to watch despite some dubious special effects.
If you like The Princess Bride you may also enjoy Stardust.
In fact, my friend watched it again last weekend because The Princess Bride reminded him of it and it's one of his favorites that he wanted his girlfriend to see.
And he's seen it because I showed it to him because it's one of my favorites

Thanks, I will have to give it a go.
Just had a quick look and I think I remember it being on my watch list near when it came out, but I must not have gotten around to watching it.

Stop throwing more CP nostalgia at me or I will have to bring back my stories from 2002.

Na, most of the Loungers do not know the involved people anymore.
Let's test : how is this way of linking in an new window [^] named and who invented it ? (Big hint: Griff and him share their first name).

This is hard work - I haven't had to use a phone for browsing, moderating, or shopping for a tablet in ages, and is forgotten how much work a soft keyboard is - even one as good as the "swipe words" one on my P30... Which weirdly seems to be Microsoft SwiftKey, which was never available on the Surface...
I want my tablet back! bwah!

Grab a little bluetooth keyboard. I use one to turn my noname 10" tablet into a fair approximation of a computer. Enough to run an editor, ssh, sftp to my server from anywhere. Beats lugging a laptop around. Battery lasts all day.

Suddenly, it will no longer charge at all, or run from external power.
I've tried two chargers, same thing on both. The little light comes on, but the battery just continues to drain. 3% left now.
Which means I need to replace it, and reasonably quickly.
Damnit! I liked that thing ...
So ... tablet with keyboard, 8 GB, 512GB SSD, ... HOW MUCH?
OK Amazon, let's see what you can do - this may take a while ...

If you have a rubber mallet, drive an awl into the charging port. Usually works like a charm. If it doesn't, drive the awl into the little light to teach it not to lie.

Take out the battery, look at the contacts and put it back in. There should be additional contacts to balance the charge of each cell, not just plus and minus. It can't recharge when only one of them has a bad contact.
If that does not work, take a wooden mallet and a wooden stake and then drive the stake through its black heart. What did you ever expect from a company that admits to being tiny and soft?

I'm on my second Paul , my advice is once they start playing up ditch them - my screen failed on the first and I got it replaced ( £200 ) then the pen wouldn't work - then I was told the battery was f*cked so replaced it ( £100 + ) then it totally died - they're great when they work but really not worth repairing in my opinion
Edit
If you keep running it off the charger the battery fries - you can limit it in the BIOS to stop charging at 50%

I'd figured that - it's all glued to the screen, so any attempt to open it for repair is likely to break it, which is going to be silly money to replace.
So all I need now is a win 10 touch screen tablet / lappie that doesn't cost more than most of the cars I've bought over the years... I'd go for a Surface Go 2, but they want silly money for the keyboard, and again for the pen... I think Ms has been taking lessons from BMW and Mercedes.
