What do you plan to do with this "clone" of your "main drive"? (A Windows OS probably won't "activate" on a different mother board while the other copy is active).
It was only in wine that he laid down no limit for himself, but he did not allow himself to be confused by it.

I am really just planning ahead for eventuality of m.2 wearing out and making sure I can duplicate quickly and get running again.

You are correct went thru those difficulties last year and that is one of the reasons I now run Ubuntu as my main system now. Ubuntu doesn't have that problem.
I can't believe how much I like Linux after using Windows since 3.1 and being a win dev for so long.

And why don't make an Image with AOMEI or Macrium?
If the SSD goes boom, then restoring from the image to a new drive should bring less troubles than cloning an active OS in an extra drive.

Macrium for sure. but you are right. that's a great idea. just make a current image of drive onto an extra SSD then I can restore to any m.2 in the future. great idea! thanks!

When I switched out my .5TB NVMe M.2 for a new 1TB one, I simply used my AOMEI backup boot from a CD. Worked fine.

I was wondering about TotD, so I checked, and found that I missed the fifth anniversary - on 26th Jan 2015 I posted the first of what I figured then was a "one off throwaway": The Lounge[^]
Five and a half years? Good grief ...
Thank you all for joining in the pun threads that followed - it couldn't have lasted as long without you!

Well, the more interesting query here would be... was that 'miss' once then only or there were repeats in these last 5 years!

A few repeats, but not many at all - I keep a record of ones I have used, and almost always check it before I add a new one to the "future posts" list.

A few months later I started my SOTW
I based the title (and overall concept) on your TOTD, obviously, but I never kept a list.
Thought it would be a one off throwaway as well
Missed some weeks, even a few months when my life was, well, hectic, but all in all we're both still here
Love both, by the way.
Yours gives me a few laughs a week, mine gives me some great songs if people reply
My SOTW isn't always as accessible, but sometimes I hear people like it or even if they don't they at least find it interesting, so that's awesome!
Cheers, to another five years!

During their return over the weekend, Hawthorne Mission Control sent up some new checklists for Bob and Doug to use. When asked if they had received them Bob replied that he hadn't. He then said his Wi-Fi was off and his tablet (iPad) was in Airplane mode. When asked, Doug replied that he had received them.
