Sorry, I got all excited, I just realised that when I create a new project with VS2019, there is an option to create new WPF App using .NET Core (3.0) runtime and SDK.
I can even publish it as self-contained targeting win-x64 environment. Is that a .NET native compilation? I know not, but I hope so...

I just get a full-page privacy notice promising to do something that's illegal in the EU.

..because the politicians can make political profit by doing as if they're defending privacy-rights. I'm saying "as if", because it was in the news that most of the political parties here place (marketing)cookies on your machine even before asking whether the user accepts cookies.
