And this is my first contract work, great pay!

congrats! more control of work/life (need some discipline tho), everything is claimable expenses...
remember that after the job there may be a period of no pay (to the next job)
if skills are in demand should be OK, but think carefully before putting down a down payment on a BMW... sometimes the economy doesn't indicate which way it's going to turn too.
