Baba always reminds me of Railroad Tycoon 2, when you put your mouse over the ventilator on the cieling and the old guy told you to f****** stop. He used to say something with "I'll get Baba down to..." Sadly can not find any videos

I am working on a WPF app at home.
I am really excited about the new .NET Core 3, Preview 1 announcement. Many things are great, but if I were to single out one feature in particular, I would single out that I will be able to deploy my app standalone, no .NET Framework dependency needed!
However... I don't really want to install preview product on my machine, nor work in a VM...
So.. well.. mm.. I guess I will have to wait.
The wait is unbearable...
Any ideas when this will be going gold?!

I wonder where this will all lead to....in microsoft market battle with aws and google.. and apple..n oracle ...
Announcing .NET Core 3 Preview 1 and Open Sourcing Windows Desktop Frameworks | .NET Blog[^]
Platform Support
.NET Core 3 will be supported on the following operating systems:
Windows Client: 7, 8.1, 10 (1607+)
Windows Server: 20012 R2 SP1+
macOS: 10.12+
RHEL: 6+
Fedora: 26+
Ubuntu: 16.04+
Debian: 9+
SLES: 12+
openSUSE: 42.3+
Alpine: 3.8+
Chip support follows:
x64 on Windows, macOS, and Linux
x86 on Windows
ARM32 on Windows (coming with preview 2) and Linux
ARM64 on Linux
For Linux, ARM32 is supported on Debian 9+ and Ubuntu 16.04+. For ARM64, it is the same with the addition of Alpine 3.8. These are the same versions of those distros as is supported for X64. We made a conscious decision to make supported platforms as similar as possible between X64, ARM32 and ARM64.
Docker images for .NET Core 3.0 are available at microsoft/dotnet on Docker Hub, including for ARM64.

Give in. VMs exist for that reason. They let you test the water with both feet.
When the worst that can happen can be undone with a Rollback command, why hesitate at all? That's what being on the bleeding edge is all about.

Mm.. I guess if I want to be on the bleeding edge, I must pay the price hey?! Mmm...

My point is that VMs reduce that price. Consider rolling back a screwed up VM, vs restoring a physical machine (even if you have a recent full-disk backup) or even worse, re-setting it up from scratch...

It's been a messy morning with the spammers and we're looking at why our filters have been a bit suboptimal, but I wanted to say a big thanks for all your help in playing an extended version of whack-a-mole, It's very much appreciated.

Hmm ... you might need a bigger limit on that card.

Shouldn't that be 2*n? (Unless beer in Canada costs C$2.53 per two liters...)

I assume you are talking directly to me.
Though I had nothing to do with resolving the problem.
It's just that you said thanks and good things and I'm a developer so I figured I was responsible for the good stuff happening.
So, I most humbly accept your thanks.

Will you be posting a video? I'd like to see that!
For myself, I'm off tomorrow to whack an elk, if I can. I have one week to locate, stalk without detection, and shoot a lady elk, for the crime of over-production. I know it seems cruel to many, but without hunters to thin out the ranks to match the available food and water, the entire herd would die. I can't allow that, so I'm going to do my very best to bring home about 500 lbs of delicious meat. If successful, that will become a year's supply of steaks, roasts, burger, and sausages; if not, it will be a memorable experience in the woods, in sub-freezing weather, with my best lady friend, Denise. We both drew tags in the lottery, against all odds; it would be very cool if we both fill our tags, and take an elk apiece home, but I think that unlikely. Just getting drawn was extremely unlikely! I'm hoping that I need to buy another freezer...

Alternatively, you could fill up the car with elk food, and help the herd survive.
Since you won't be giving me any of the meat, I'm in favour of that option. Why should I be the only one to suffer?

Ya know, you gotta wonder what benefit there is to posting so many copies of the same thing. Unless it's just to wear down the site owner...
