Well for a large fee I'll upvote it - my price reflects my reputation, of course.

Never mind Amazon, check the 9 ~ 10 star reviews on IMDB for total crap movies. That's where the real money is.

Some people really do like crap movies. Personally never had any interest in watching The Godfather, and really did car for Shawshank Redemption or Schindler's List

"Great" movies and books are to be avoided.

even worse when critics speak for 'the people.'
for instance some reviewer declared that [steaming POS movie] Titanic "gave everybody everywhere closure."
(1) it was same story already told, what did the movie change apart from make Sealion Dying a 'Vegas icon' (also FFS, why??? bunch of wailing crap)
but even more
(2) I, and many people I know never had any opensure(??) for the Titanic event, WTF was there to close??
dumb ass critic - it was a totally complete and utter steaming shite movie and for sure he don't speak for me.

I still haven't seen Avatar. When "they" were saying, "All 5 billion people on earth love this movie", I was like, "haven't seen it".
Still haven't.

I started the movie but never ended it. Seemed pretty stupid. Still pissed that Scyfy kept killjoys and killed both Dark Matter and The Expanse (at least the Expanse has been picked up). Killjoys is just so stupid, but I guess if you keep Warehouse 13 and Eureka on for years and also have wrestling on, you can be a serious SciFi channel.

Yeah, I never understand how they make those choices...but then if you think about the fact that they killed Star Trek (TOS) after only 3 seasons you know that the Television/Movie Moguls know nothing.
Nothing!

there are even worse stories, like they killed I think it was the Addams Family because the wife of one of the big wigs liked Gunsmoke, which I never did. Only 2 seasons, and they made two movies after it, and none for Gunsmoke. Did not like I think it was Angelica Houston as Morticia, but loved Carolyn Jones. Actually so many of the actors in the original were so great, and it was just like the comic. However did like Christina Ricci a lot better than the one that played in the show, but the kids really did not impact the show much either. Never a fan of the Monsters, but that only lasted two seasons also, and Gilligan's Island I think only lasted 3. So many forgettable shows instead.
The worst story was Firefly which took a long time for audiences to find because of its time, and when it started getting a following they canceled it instead of moving it. Not my favorite space show by far, but I think it was better than

A show I was also not big on was 2001 A space Odyssey. But a big reason is that the screwed the hell out of the models so that could not possibly represent the outside of the sets, the dialog seemed very stilted, and so much of the plot was worthless.

I don't know what these people are complaining about. Real reviewers doing fake reviews is nothing. With AI pretty soon we'll have fake reviewers doing real reviews.

That's true, because the opinion of a fake entity is real, because it is programmed to be that way.

Guv'mint doesn't care, it was a private lawsuit. It does create a precedent though.

I wondered the same thing. Then I re-read that quote that I posted and I noticed another thing -- the quote was a bit of a troll by LinkedIn.
Here's the quote again:
LinkedIn said: The owner of a business that wrote fake TripAdvisor reviews has been jailed in Italy for nine months. The criminal court in Lecce found the unnamed man, who was also fined around $10,000, tried to sell more than 1,000 positive reviews to hundreds of businesses across Italy. TripAdvisor has praised the “landmark ruling,” and says businesses that paid for fake reviews have been hit with penalties. This is the first time such a case has resulted in jail time.
It was TripAdvisor who hit the companies with penalties. I thought it was saying that the legal system hit them with penalties. A completely different thing.
