Any day when you learn something new isn't completely wasted!
In this case, it's not a lot of "not completely wasted" info, but it's a start!

Amateurs. Always stay one step ahead of your manager, so that you usually already have done yesterday what he might pull out of the sleeve to have done asap.
Only for very advanced managees; Always have a stick to throw for your manager, so that he can run and chase something and leaves you alone. You can easily double the amount of time you get him off your back if you can throw that stick in the direction of another manager and they get into a debate over who gets to chase the stick.

Nice to know other people still use that shortcut
Ctrl C is hard to reach with the right hand (left mouse user)
Keyboards without the insert key are also stupid. Luckily they're not so common anymore

Hi! Only way I can reach you, since you disabled the "email" link on your messages ...
Could you do us all a favour?
When you report an article as spam, that only "tags" the article - it doesn't do anything with the spammer. So please, when you hit "spam", please also report the user as well?
And because articles get closed with 5 "spam" votes, and it takes 10 to close an account, it would really help if you would also report both article and user here: Spam and Abuse Watch Discussion Boards[^] as the community can join in with the kicking and get rid of them quicker!
(You'll probably also get a little extra reputation as well, which is nice.)
Thanks!

Thanks for the message, I didn't realize that the user needed to be reported separately!
Will do in future.
(enabled private emails too, don't remember why I disabled it in the first place...)

You're welcome!
The email thing - probably privacy, but it's pretty safe. If I send you a "private email" via the link, you get my email so you can reply - but I don't get yours until you do. If you don't specifically use the email address you get sent I never get a clue what yours is, it never becomes public.

Works for me in version 57.0.2987.98 (64 bit).
BTW, Ctrl C and Ctrl V are not bad.

My condolences about IE.
One reason I never latched on to shortcuts involving INS, DEL, PGUP, PGDN etc is that those keys tend to go walkabout. Each new keyboard has them somewhere different, and if you switch machines a lot, it becomes a right PITA.
I have one laptop (Asus) which has the cursor inverted-T wedged in too tight, to the point that my right pinkie hits UP and thinks it's right shift. I am forced to use an external keyboard to avoid the (otherwise excellent) lappie sailing out the nearest window.
Dredging into distant memories, I recall the grief I had when CRTL and CAPS LOCK swapped places. When was that, 70's? 80s?
Cheers,
Peter

Peter_in_2780 wrote: those keys tend to go walkabout Tell me about it, I have a laptop where the pgup key is where the shift key should be. It probably is not a big problem for the touch typist but I have never managed to master that skill.

Yep, same here. I used to use only Ctrl+insert and so, and was even making funny of the Ctrl+C/+V "microsoft" copy and pasters. Then tried. Never came back, mostly because c/v keys on the left hand and mouse on the right.
