Thanks very much. I will take a look at those myself.

"Android-based OS on a PC"
I fail to see the point. All I see is bull*hit: Re-imagining mobile, Redefining PC.
And then they claim this:
We've benchmarked Remix OS for PC’s performance against some of the best alternatives in the business. And quite honestly, nothing comes remotely close. This means your favorite games will not only look bigger on a PC screen, they will also perform better than ever.
Yeeeah, riiight!

My only thought was that I have been looking for an OS that could run on my old laptop with 3 GB ram and an old celeron processor. Just looking for a small footprint which would also allow a good selection of apps. This might work.

Is it possible to boot it in a VM as opposed to a dual boot?

Good question, but I'm not sure about that.

So Angular uses semantic versioning... That's explain why all broke down between 1 and 2, but now they explain that 4 will be a painless update, that's either because 'Breaking changes don’t have to be painful!' or because jumping 2 version forward means we will not even recognize the new Angular...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

After the initial hump, I really enjoyed working with Ng1.
Now Ng2 wants me to stovepipe my development to fit their model, and I just won't do that. I doubt that's going to get better with the next three versions: 4, 12, and 1564.
So I won't use them. I guess I'll be taking a peek at React or just suck it up and roll my own.

but the team is working hard on making this tool generally available, most probably in 2017 in time for version 5.
And then there's version 5.
I never touched Angular because by the time I started looking at these frameworks, there was "rumor" that A2 would completely break A1. So I decided I wouldn't waste my time with Angular until at least A2. Then comes all this shyte, that they're moving to A4, skipping A3, because of something called "semantic versioning." And then maybe a tool will be available to convert to A5.
Here's some some semantic versioning maybe the Google Angular team can understand: "elephant off!"

If you're going to skip a version, skip 2.
Part 2 is never the best.
With 1 everything is new and shiny.
Then comes 2, always a let down. It just doesn't have that "ohhh" and "ahhh" feeling the first one had.
Realizing they need to step up their game, and also because of low expectations from consumers, part 3 always does a lot better.
So just skip 2

I think you meant "is always the best"...
Back to the Future Part 2 -- Best of the series.
The Empire Strikes Back -- Best of all the Star Wars movies.
Seriously. Right? Right?

Even with just two versions, Ag1 and Ag2, one can barely recognize Ag2.
That is the biggest reason I lost interest in Angular.

... Because it takes ALLLLLLL ELEPHANTING DAY TO INSTALL.
I've written some fairly large apps in my day that include installers. When I run the install they certainly don't take 8 BLASTED HOURS!!
WTF could possibly be in this install that takes ALL FRIGGIN DAY!!
Add to that, my PC is pretty much unusable right now. It's come to a total crawl and I can't use it/

Ok, I'm calm now..
