I have installed VS Community 2015 and the pre-release of VS Community 2017. When I try to create a project in either version, the highest .NET Framework shown is 4.6.2.
I have purchased a book from Samms entitled MS Visual Studio 2015 Unleashed. The title of Chapter 17 is "Building Modern Websites with ASP.NET 5". There is a screen shot in the chapter showing the project templates. It shows both ASP.NET 4.6 Templates and ASP.NET 5 Preview Templates from which to create the project.
Have I missed something here?

Asp.Net 5, resides in the red text at the top of this page? Wow, now that is cool technology!

I do not consider this to be a programming question as I know ASP.NET 5 does not exist. It is a rhetorical question, which is suitable for this forum!

Thank you BPfH. I had missed that missive from Scott. It clears a lot of things up in the old brain. I shall go forward with renewed vigour.

Just ignore them, I mean the comments regarding "programming question". It is only a illustrious circle allowed here to post such a thing here....

ASP.NET 5 was renamed to ASP.NET Core. It's NOT the direct upgrade to ASP.NET 4.6.x.

The windows 10 taskbar is so close to being awesome on multi-monitors...yet so far away. It drives me nuts that they included these options for "Show taskbar buttons on":
1) All taskbars
2) Main taskbar and taskbar where window is open
3) Taskbar where window is open
But neglected to include a separate option to toggle whether you want pinned items to appear on one taskbar or both...WHY??? For some reason they seemingly arbitrarily decided that pinned items appear on both taskbars if you pick #1, but #2 and #3 stop showing pinned items on secondary monitors.
I want the option to open pinned items from either monitor, but I want opened windows to only show they are open on the monitor they are on, not on both. This seems like the most obvious and logical way to organize the taskbars, I don't understand why that isn't an option...
The other thing that was driving me a little nuts was that if I had a Chrome window open on one monitor but clicked the taskbar icon on a different monitor, it always pops open on whichever other monitor a chrome window is already open on instead of the one that has my mouse on it. I'm glad to report I just solved that problem with a little background application that moves any new windows to the monitor your mouse is on if they open on another monitor, but COMMON I want pinned items on both screens and I don't want to clutter my main taskbar with windows open on other monitors. Is that so much to ask for?

Yes. Remember, Win10 is aimed at tablets and phones, with desktops lucky to get a look-in. One screen, no hassle!
Sell one of your monitors: problem solved!

I think you're thinking windows 8. Windows 10 had shifted the focus back to desktop way more and added multi-monitor taskbars for the first time ever, which is nice, except that it *really* needs that minor tweak to make it power user friendly.

Windows 10 is "Windows 8 SP2" - it's better for desktops, but it's still clear they are an afterthought. Compare Win10 with Win7, and you'll see the "desktop focus" is still poor, with useless Metro / UWP apps and such littering the thing, and a lack of "cohesive design" which Win7 showed in spades.
And before you ask, yes, I'm running Win10 on my desktop; yes, my WookieTab is running Win10 far, far more than Android.

Sorry, my mistake, multi monitor taskbars were added in Windows 8 but were much more limited. They expanded features in 10 to make it usable, now maybe they will get it right in the next release haha.
And while I kind of agree regarding Windows 8 SP2, I think Windows 10 is now a far better operating system even for desktops than Windows 7 was. I know not everyone agrees with that but other than the taskbar issue, I really love Windows 10, especially after all the updates now. I disagree that desktop is an afterthought at this point just because it has pretty metro stuff everywhere. I find it works great.
