. Thought I'd do one as my last chance, now we're into daylight saving and you must be finishing soon. Summer means CCC is too late for me. I really need my beauty sleep

In which case, feel free to have tomorrow's.
And thanks for the reminder that we're about to move back to the horrors of GMT!

It's already a hour later for us. But I've still got the rest of the week, I believe. I'll look forward to yours

What is this "warm" you speak of? Do you mean "dry"?

High 20's today and no sign of rain; still. I do need to clean the car though as it appears to be covered with a large part of the Sahara.

Anywhere warm....where everyone speaks English, they can buy Stella at a "pub", the restaurants serve ham and eggs (none o' that foreign muck) and where they can still watch the Arsenal game on telly.

That is the depressing truth. I once went to Tenerife to walk/climb Mount Teide. It was much cheaper to book a package then to try for direct flights so it was a week in Playa and a daily drive up into the crater. Bally good fun, until we got to the bar in the evening. I intentionally ate and drank local, well Spanish, products. None of the gastly imported British Muck!

Really? English sausages are the best in the world, so is its black pudding. Have to hand it so Spain on the bacon and eggs front though. And coffee, hot chocolate, pastries, tapas, wine, sherry, in fact pretty much everything else that isnt fish and chips and pies and pasties.

The warm sunny beaches down the street from me - well - you know - we don't want any of that riff-raff leaving fish'n'chips crumbs in the sand and all that.* What a relief!
* All that also includes the stench of gin in the air covering up the occasional (and preferable) stench from a summer low tide during a heat wave.

Why do you think we colonised the world? We cant stand being at home!
For one the weather is appalling, the food dull, and we have an incredible wonder lust. Go to almost any holiday destination and there will be a big Brit constituent.

In general I'd like to think there's more good news than bad news out in the world - good news unfortunately, doesnt sell newspapers/news etc so isnt 'profitable'

Looking on all the bad news made it to the media, sometimes I think that the fact the sun rises is actually good news...

Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.
