So I just downloaded some free software to make some recording of my screen. I was given the option to get a (free) license, but I could make use of a 30 day trial. So I tested it and it worked fine.
Then it tells me there is an update available, so I update and again it tells me I should license my software. I still get a trial, but not all options are available if I don't license it.
It seems that in this new version recording is one of the options that is unavailable without a license... 
The software is called BB FlashBack Express Player. Anyone know it? Is it any good?

It might be (I have no idea), but I'm guessing there are free ones out there (Actually free, not trialware) that can do the same or better.

Tried CamStudio, still don't like it. I've used it before (on another machine), but all it gives me is black recordings where the screen is only revealed by my mouse movement...

Chrome actually blocked CamStudio for possibly being unsafe...
I've used it in the past, but wasn't very fond of it back then. Perhaps I should give them another go.

I'm encountering the same problems I had before... I record using CamStudio, it then takes ages to convert my video and at the end it gives me a black video that only shows a part of my screen where my mouse moves...

Hmmm, don't know why you're having problems just ran mine and it is somewhat slow converting but did a fine job playing back. Configured for region and no sound, ~ 30sec clip!
When I tried to download the latest version AVG blocked saying it contained malware or something?

Chrome blocked my download, but I turned off the Chrome security and just downloaded it anyway. Had no problems installing or running though.
