Found a program called MP4Cam2AVI Easy Converter[^]
Most of the time when converting from one format to another you will lose quality, but this claims to just make it compatible for the type of editing you want to do without re-encoding, so no quality loss and it should be quicker as well.

My father in law is complaining about it being a bit intrincate and doesn't like it so much. Do you know an alternative for editing not just converting?
M.D.V.
If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Nothing else that's free, and also easier to use than WMM. There are non-free video editing software options available (decent ones under $100).

Like here: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegassoftware[^]
"Movie Studio" versions from a little under to a little over $100 on the second row.
Then when you find out you really like movie-making and really like Vegas, you can get one of the ones at the top of the page.

Have you tried VLC?
It'll play nearly anything and can convert between formats too.
Otherwise, I use Handbrake like Griff does.

Interesting. Didn't know VLC had conversion support. Thanks.

You're welcome. I forgot to add - it's all done with software, unlike some which use your gpu. Handbrake can use it for both the decode and encode operations. (But it wont run on the Raspberry Pi)

Similar to racial profiling, I find myself expecting, well, stoopid posts from people who can't even put in their real name or some sort of cutsey handle when signing up. Is that bad?
And if this post is too stoopid to bother replying to, then don't.

Are you saying my handle is cute?

He dials while the gun barrel cools...

Shoot first, dial second.

When in trouble he doesn't call 911, he calls 1911

I think I shall not answer that.

Nope, I expect stupid posts from people who do put in their real name or some sort of cutsey handle when signing up as well.
Especially if the handle implies they are ÜberCoderz

Nope, I'm definition 1.

I am a private person. Is it bad that I don't want the world out their to know my real name?
You are safe using your real name as long as you don't attach any comments/posts to that real name, that may hurt you in the future (i.e. political, religious, or possibly offensive).
This could also hurt you when looking for work. All I have to do is Google Marc Clifton, and I can see everything you posted publicly. This is fine for you as long as you are not offending anyone.
With all that said, I have posted too many offensive and stupid things here, in the past, and by changing my handle to my real name "would" hurt me.

Just because someone uses what looks like a real name does not mean it is their real name.
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

No, I was just noticing how people who use the default username seem to ask, well, the default questions, as it were.

Ah, I see.
I guess they are people who don't plan on coming back to the site, or have a different sense of individuality, I guess.
