Up here in Brisbane back in the late 80's there used to be a nightclub that had only one way in and out - via a small elevator. (Sometime after this story the Firies shut it down under fire safety laws.)
It was fairly customary in this club for the bouncers to give you a bit of a touch-up in the elevator on the way down if you were being escorted off the premises. You knew you were in strife if as you were being marched out the bouncers took off their shirts and handed them to the manager (presumably to stop them from having blood on them) before getting into the lift.
So... one night, a couple of people I know were in there having a good time, when for one reason or another they were asked to leave... The two of them were escorted to the lifts, and the bouncers took their shirts off to hand to the manager, and the lift doors closed and punches flew thick and fast.
Once the lift reached the ground floor, the two people I know exited the lifts, leaving the bouncers in a screaming heap on the floor of the lift and hit the button to send them back to the manager.
True story.

Just Deserves.
It warms my heart that your mates survived and came out on top.
The industry attracts a lot of nasty people and some good people as well.
Even though there has been lots of changes in legislation, this sort of thing still happens on a regular basis.
Drink in Moderation _Damian S_ or Elephant it and go over your quota and enjoy...
Loved your story.

Anyone here playing the game? Here's[^] what it is. It is by NianticLabs that was acquired by Google.
Some may think this is the new way for NSA to track where you go. I don't care though. What would excite NSA about me going to work and grocery stores most of the time?

I registered when it was in beta, they didn't get back in touch. Pfffft.
Can't think there'd be many portals suggested here in Sunderland, there are only a handful of landmarks: The Stadium of Sh*te, the place where "Metric Martyr" Steve Thoburn parks his "Cherished Plate" Bentley and the Salvation Army hostel for the terminally drunk & drug-addled.

It is addiction BTW. My walking and petrol consumption has increased ever since I got hooked.

That invite offer, best not. I'm already getting it in the neck from the missus about the Kerbal Space Program.

Played it for 2-3 months... Pretty much lost the interest in it though. It got very repetitive in my opinion. They added a lot of features since then, however...
is it worth to give it another shot?

Well... you got Resonators, Bursters, Shields and Portal Keys and were able to hack portals, set resonators and link portals. that's it.
What has changed since then?
Oh.. and I just saw that I've got 12 invites left. If anyone is interested I'm happy to share them with you
