Reread: it's posting (often ludicrous) fallacies, easily checked, but not checking them. In particular, that such is done knowingly and willfully because their beliefs are more important than the truth.*

No - you misunderstood what I was getting to. It's not the type of things that are posted, per se, but that people will post things that are readily provable as false, that they know how to prove as false, but choose to present as though it were true.
The question is, and quite a philosophical one at that: If you suspect something is a lie and can check its veracity but "choose not to", so you don't for a fact "know" it to be a lie, does that make it OK? [even from the SoapBox]

That's my rant - not what's posted in terms of tone, but the display be people about how little regard they have for any truth that doesn't agree with their world view.

I don't think there is much you can do about that, people often believe what they choose to believe, and the 'truth' is not always absolute. The recent thread about Trump vs Clinton provided some nice examples.

If only these people would read Machiavelli's "The Prince" - and see what's being done to them and how long it's been done to people.
The current election cycle has a theme: J'accuse ! - prove me wrong. An an ill-educated audience lapping up the manipulation.

Most of them would not even know the book exists, and even if they did, would probably not understand it. To be honest it's not an easy read. However, I get your point, and tend to agree with you, but ... boys will be boys.
