they'll set fire to a mountain of paper and walk away - leaving the neighbors to enjoy the clouds of smoke blowing into their homes. (the burners were smart enough to close their own windows - and no they never bother to warn even their closest neighbors.)
- it's supposed to be honoring their relatives - enriching them by burning "hell money" - made from the shittiest cheapest quality recycled (laced with god knows what) paper.
here they've made smoking a tiny cigarette illegal almost everywhere even outside on some streets, but burning a heap of stinking recycled paper next to schools (yes pre-school/child care centers too), shops, eating houses (many open air), bus stops, AND EVEN THOSE NON SMOKING STREETS... all good.

Put up a BBQ in a Dutch city, and you have the same problems; people complaining about stench and smoke, and every year there's a few shouting that it should be illegal to charcoal-BBQ.
Outside the cities things are simpler. If you want to BBQ you don't just warn your neighbours, you invite them over to join.

Really? I love the smell of BBQ and I dislike BBQing (because a kitchen is so much easier and I don't like it outside) and I'm a veggie 
The downside, of course, is that my neighbors go outside and I can hear them when I have my door open.

It is easier to just order food, so why do you have a kitchen? 
A small one-time-use grill costs less than 5 euros, perfect for a picnic. And best of all - almost no dishes to clean!

When we got married I bring a desktop with me, noways we have a desktop (for me), 2 laptops (one for the wife for personal and the other to the kids to running the local library mostly), an all in one (to the wife's work), a tablet (to play games in bed for the kids) and 2 fairly new smartphones (me and wife, but wife's is constantly abused by kids)...
(and I do not count all the electronics I gathered - a shoebox)

Now ...
2 Desktops (though hers is old because she hasn't used it for years)
2 phones (plus a small bucket full of "used" ones)
Her tablet (10" Samsung)
My Nexus 7
My Fire HD (heap of pooh)
My WookieTab
Android head unit in car
Chromecast (Android)
Amazon Fire TV (Android. Ish.)
No kids, or there would be loads more I suspect.
And I give the Cat a new tablet every month ...

Everytime I buy a new desktop, the old one goes to the attic. That way when something blows up, I have a spare PC, or I can raid it for spare parts. Have been doing so for quite some time.
Good amount of IDE-cables in reserve. And network cables, phone cables, hubs, dead routers, a TV adapter for the 16-bits Nintendo. Books on Windows NT4. Can't remember the last time I actually needed an IDE-cable

I've always been a desktop man, my first was a 486 (the Amstrad 1512 was my father's).
My wife is on her third laptop -- and I occasionally use one of her previous tablet thingies when I want to be on the patio or something.
The Kid -- who turns 18 today! -- has an iPad, two laptops, and now a gaming desktop.
But then there's my small DEC museum -- a MicroVAX, two AlphaServers, and an Itanium all running OpenVMS.
