The client was sort of a disaster to work with -- constant changing specs, several (including me) remote developers and no source control, various strange decisions, lack of complete transparency of the project code, etc.
I ended up putting about 3 hours of work into something, only to finally hit a stumbling where I asked "can I see the code for how you implemented this elsewhere?" only to get a response "oh, I've already implemented what you're working on."
I blew a gasket (it was a long time coming), zipped up all my work (since they don't have source control) and sent on its way over Skype (since that was the medium of communication) and told them I hope they have great success with their venture.
Wasn't even worth billing them the 3 hours.
So, WPF? I read some tutorials, basic stuff really, and decided (again) it's not for me. If I'm going to learn something obscure, arcane, and requiring daily chanting and blood sacrifices, I'd rather stick with web development.

Before turning to the dark side of the obnoxious Ads there was "ES-File explorer" for Android. It was like my ol' Debian... but then they dumbed it down and made it the usual pisshole of an Android App.

Yeah I used to love that one - but then it got greedy and annoying, so I dumped it. Haven't found one as good as it was yet though (File Manager HD doesn't make it easy to do simple copying that was easy on ES).

Not sure - I've found some which might be the source but I need to get rid of it first to check (it's inside the bowl, in the holes the flushing water comes through.) Which is annoying, since I use loo blocks to prevent that ... hey ho - to the supermarket I go ...

I actually bought a hand-held device with a little TV screen and a meter or so of fiber-optics.
Originally, it was to fix a tub drain that wouldn't close. Since then I've used it to inspect for lint in a dryer vent "hose" and even down a shower drain to find Mrs. earring (though it was in an unrecoverable location) (it's quite waterproof - and has a built-in LED)
I was going to loan it to you, but you've things well-in-hand.
Actually, it's a good investment: when I retire I'll make a little money on the side (pun intended) setting up a do-it-yourself discount protoscopic exam franchise "The Hole Thing".

As a side note, we had a similar smell by the Kitchen.
Turned out a small animal had gotten trapped in the attic, and then trapped inside the wall.
Took weeks for it to dry out and the smell to go away.
We called some people who literally said "We could rip the walls apart, and then put them back together... But the paint will never match, etc. etc. etc."
Thanks for bringing back the memory. But it may be in the wall. Try on the other side of the wall.

Sorry to disappoint, but it's not in the wall. The walls here are solid granite, 2 foot thick. They have disadvantages: putting up a shelf is a major project for example, but they have advantages too: putting up a shelf is a major project so Herself doesn't ask for it often (or at all); they take a long time to heat up and cool down so the temperature in the house is pretty stable provided you get the air to move about a bit.

If the toilet is loose at all, then the wax o-ring seal may be broken.
This literally requires pulling the toilet out cleaning the old wax out,
and reseating the toilet with new wax rings. And use 2 rings if the plumbing was installed
before the floor was tiled (a lesson one learns the expensive way).
The back of the seal would give first, was we tend to lean on the front of the toilet...

put a fancy (anagram) of fill = llfi into it =>Bu llfi nch
I though the spray bit might have caught people out. I'll try to think of something much easier for tomorrow as I'm otherwise occupied on Thursday .

I know that programming questions are not to be published in the Lounge and this could qualify, but still...
I tried the american coffee, and... I liked it. Even my girlfriend, who doesn't like (italian) coffee at all, liked it. So the question is: how do I brew it at home? In Italy we have mailny espresso machines and moka cafetieres, and I know nothing else.
