Girl takes calculator to prom[^]
What will be next? A dildo in a tuxedo?
Apart from that, I quite understand why she doesn't have a date...

Hiring an accountant?
This must be pretty close to DD's dream, except that calculator doesn't run Excel.

If she wants to take a calculator, rather than some callow spotty oik, then good for her.

I'm with you on that. Every day my girls go without a boy is another restful night for me.

You'd rather have them live with you for the rest of your life?

Or maybe she just didn't want to hang out with one of those judgmental shallow doucheheads.

Well she came to the wrong place here then. Oh wait, she didn't ask to be ridiculed here.

She didn't?
Contrary to what peterchen might think, I wasn't really referring to her boobs, braces or general looks - People can't help how they look (even though they can do what they can to improve upon it).
I wasn't referring to the fact that she went to the prom alone either. I agree with other people that that is a brave decision.
What I WAS referring to is the fact that she dresses her calculator in a tuxedo and brings it as a "prom date" - that's not brave, that's ridiculous.
[EDIT] Same goes for the guy with the Playstation btw. [/EDIT]

No, but that was the tenor of the article posted - despite its claims - and it was the effect here.

Another case of a smart, creative, brave person being left without a date because all the nitwits are off chasing boobzilla around. Some day a very lucky guy is gonna wake up and realize what a little gem is right there - probably a PC Jr. or something.

So if I start lying about what I find attractive, then more girls will join codeproject?

Nobody cares about what you find attractive.
They do care that you disrespect the girl.

Of course not. They all care about what I find attractive.
