It's actually after 01:00 Sunday here now.
At work prior to 07:00 and got out at 17:45. Had the son working with me and after work stop off in the city for a while so he could get few things. Got back home around 21:00 and since then been getting time sheets and invoices done as it was End Of Financial Year today.
2 - 4 week contract has hit 12 weeks and still going.
Most of the past week has been getting and office move ready for a pretty large charitable foundation, yesterday and today was the heavy lifting. The boss was hit by a truck 7 months ago while riding his bike, they reckon his shoulder maybe close to getting good in another 2 years. The youngest bloke broke his arm skateboarding 5 weeks ago.
That left me (the oldest and tallest) and the other bloke (the biggest) to do all physical stuff. The new rack is in a place that would be OK if I was 1.5 metres tall, 40kg and strong enough to lift an elephant.
Putting in the clamping monitor stands and monitor arms wouldn't have been so bad if there was enough room to put them down the gap gap at the back of the desk and if there weren't cable cages below the desk in the road.
I'm sore as faarrrkkkk and using alcohol to sort things out. Woke up this morning and the first knuckle on the little and ring fingers on the right hand were redder than Rudolph's nose.
Good to have some consistent work for a change though.

I've been wanting to get into the 3D print side myself, but I don't even know where to start.

Just getting into it myself, been waiting for prices to come down and technology to mature.
A friend of mine bought one of these about a year ago so I'm drawing on his experience, plus he was a CAD operator years ago so can help me with drawing models up.

Nothing fancy required, just three questions: did it work out of the box? did it continue to work after a month? do you feel you got value for your money?
If the answers are yes * 3, I'm willing to take a little gamble on some builds I'd like to attempt.

1) It did work out of the box, I was really impressed. Main thing is to level it right, I took the time and really spent time on this step and it payed off.
2) The guy that got me interested and the reason I bought this model has had his for a year and still loves it. He's printed many things for me and they have come out looking nice. Slow to print but hey who's in a hurry right?
3) Was it worth the money? Well some of the things I plan to print would be hard if not impossible to find, such as gears, custom parts for robots, arms, etc.. Project cases are really hard to find the ones I want and if I can find them they are really expensive. I made a custom box for my breadboard and computer I use to provide square waves etc., cases that I priced where $50+.
My girl friends son came over last night and he plans on printing custom car parts.
So the answer is yes I am sure I will get my monies worth out of it.

Great! What are you going to use it for?
I'm printing the engine section of a Space 1999 Eagle[^] right at this moment. Third try, but it seems to go well this time.
Last week, after getting the printer to work again, I printed this little robot[^].
And then there still is my Huey[^] which I should finally finish and get some paint on it. I still want to fly that thing this summer.
Edit: I forgot the General Motors Marauder[^] that's also waiting for some paint.
