I had something even worse happen....
Many years (over 30) ago, I was the software liaison between the company I worked for in New Jersey and a joint marketing partner in Los Angeles. My company's management panicked for some reason and sent me out to visit the partner for an early Friday and a Monday morning meeting. This meant being away over the weekend, much to my new wife's dismay.
When I got to the West Coast, I found out that the Friday meeting was canceled. I returned on Monday to find that the people I was to meet with were unavailable, having "gone on vacation." I returned to the airport and flew home.
I found out later that the real reason for the "vacation" is that the company that owned them was informing them that it was closing them down and planning the shutdown strategy.
The meeting was never rescheduled.

Hi All,
Been having difficulties with my email since my Amazon account got compomised (I ended up buying some phone protectors, for phone I don't have!) I have altered the bank and got the card used cancelled. Paypal & eBay changed and my main email has changed. I have kept my mail client downloading from the account that has been compomised but I won't be sending through it. It's just that email is everywhere! and I don't want to cut off access to it. If I avoid downloading anything I should be alright, shouldn't I?

So, if you are using an apartment wifi setup, because you are already paying for it and it's fast, how can you also have a local network so that your non-wifi devices get routed out to the apartment wifi, and of course you have your own local router and firewall? You can use a WAP as a bridge to get to the wifi, but then that's just your devices directly connected to their building router. Of course in a perfect world that would be fine, but who would really trust that? They can provide mac based pre-approval of devices, but still.
Is there anything that would act as a front end to an apartment wifi system, but provide the standard local firewall/router type functionality?

I use an old Win Server as the only thing connected to the internet; dual-homed, and my internal network has to go through there to get out. Most of my devices are hard-wired, and my WiFi SSID is not broadcast so it sees very little traffic

I have the feeling she may have taken CM comments to heart as she was using the site as her personal blog and therefore is reducing her posting, hopefully not eliminating it.
