These people have redefined "self-aware" to suit their purposes, so the only thing in danger from their technology is sensible use of the English language.
"Self-aware" does not mean "able to calculate and work within minimum and maximum parameter values", which is all their machines are doing.

And what leads you to describe it as "the perfect book on parsing"?
I mean you don't have it, so you don't know it in details and same would be for the other books.... so why that one is the 'perfect' one?

Edit: No book there, just a link to the 2nd edition (to buy) and a note that the 1st edition is out of print. Oh well. I ended up finding it for about $80, that's a bit more reasonable than what i was looking at having to pay.

I looked again and the second entry at Amazon is the hardcover version, used and it is the one at $34.
It is rather funny that Grune's name is misspelled on the cover of it.
