OK, so it first asked me where I want to store my preferences and other stuff. Still, it created folders under my OS user folder. Why? I don't need you for long stop ruining my system!
Just clicked on create new maven project and it can't do it. Can't read some plugin. Searched web and looks like there are many reason for it. Someone said settings.xml is missing, other guy said it is not needed. Someone said delete everything and start over, other guy said update eclipse plugins.
I admit this is the first time I will be using maven but I don't understand why I can't even create a project of certain type after downloading IDE.
While I was typing this message, eclipse plugin update process failed. It is not even responding anymore.
Edit: now that error dialog just went away! I wanted to click on details, did not work. Clicked on close, it worked.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say perhaps because that's where the OS says it should be storing per user data. I know, crazy talk, isn't it.

Not just that, it stored plugin repository there. Plus, it did tell me it will store user specific data in the folder I mention.

Eclipse (the IDE) is just a shell. It knows of no languages. You have to install those additionally.
I use Eclipse at work with the Java and AUIML plugins. I use Eclipse at home with the Android plugin.

I use VS about 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week on average and I work with Eclipse when I do mod work for Minecraft.

Why? JetBrains has such better IDE's. Then again, maybe you're doing something that you actually need Eclipse for, soooo...

In the getting started guide for the tool we are evaluating, it says create maven project in eclipse. So, can't choose anything else. But then, it is probably just for a week.

You probably do on a daily basis pretty well anywhere in the world. Many of those people probably drink, too (quite legally) - it's only an issue if they do it on the job.
Personally, it's always bugged me that so much law enforcement resource is devoted to complete and utter trivia at the expense of protecting us from harmful criminals.

I always think it's very telling that there were more alcoholics in the US at the end of prohibition than there were at the start of it.
Prior to heroin becoming illegal, the number of addicts in the UK was measured in dozens rather than tens of thousands.
The whole "War On Drugs" thing has been a complete and utter disaster: if its prime objective was to reduce drug usage, it has to be one of the most epic failures in human history.
Illegality only serves to glamourise drugs and to ensure that all the profits end up in distinctly unsavoury places. It has created a gang culture that (exactly as with the 1920's) is getting seriously out of hand.
I'm inclined to agree that we should at least try it because the current situation is so bad that we'd struggle to make it any worse!

That's basically my thought on firearms detention, that's why I have hard time making up my mind. My dislike for drugs ain't reason enough to push for a ban on them.

There are literally more deaths per year associated with rugs, carpets, and doors (individually) than there are with marijuana. Not to downplay possible psychological addiction but the numbers speak for themselves. Not even counting the people whose lives have changed for the better due to medical marijuana. I personally know a mother whose infant child takes CBD for seizures because no other medicine controlled it and he's been seizure free for over two years now
