Have you noticed that the ln (natural log) button is removed from Windows 8 / Win 10 calculator?
You can see the (original - win xp, win vista, win 7) had it.

Click the "hamburger" menu on the top-left, and switch to Scientific mode.
If necessary, resize the calculator window to make it wider.
The ln button is then three from the left, second from the bottom, just above n!.

So the functions you can perform depend on the width of your screen?

There's a show called "Fool Us" where magicians perform in front of Penn and Teller, and P&T try to work out how the trick is done and if they can't the magician has fooled them. Anyway, someone did a trick that replied on this very thing, that certain features of the calculator on Apple devices were only visible when the screen was orientated a certain way. When the magician used the phone he did it landscape to access certain functions and when he handed it to others to use it was given in portrait.

Yup. It only needs to be 3.5x as wide as the minimum, and even with the history/memory stack sidebar with buttons about 2x as wide as in its minimum layout.
And more perversely still it needs to be about 8% wider than its mininum to disable the "shift" in favor of all buttons in 4 rows above the numbers by stretching it vertically.

Reminds me of the ATI graphics driver installers. If you don't have any drivers, you're typically stuck in 640x480. In ATI's infinite wisdom stupidity, the installer is fixed size and 480 pixels tall. So you have about 4 pixels of button to click to advance the installer; or you have to hide the taskbar...
