Also, our day to day attitudes in the US are different from what I gathered. Even more so in big cities. So, in a place like the public transport, they don't like anyone. Also, most people don't like people "bird doggin" them.
If you want to take something as racist/personal we'll give you plenty of opportunities. However, from my experience, it's not usually meant that way.
Do keep in mind that there are racist sunshines everywhere. I'm not talking about them, I'm talking about people in general.

Maybe not in the US, since there are people from practically every country in the world. Around here, everyone looks the same.

You only have one color of people? Holy cow, that must be boring. How do you find your friends? Tell who is going to suicide bomb? or know who is going to rob you?
Just seems boring, that's all I'm sayin.

I also prefer not to sit next to: fat people, unwashed people, junkies, and people in general. The relative weights of these preferences are not entirely clear even to myself.

If at all possible no. Nothing to do with foreigner though, I'd prefer not to sit next to anyone. Having people inside arms length annoys me, even if they are the same color. I always attempt to sit alone, and also give other people their own space.

Perhaps it is the needy way your eyes flit from boarding passenger to boarding passenger, yearning "please sit next to me" that is putting people off. Or you live in Alabama.

Never mind foreigners people don't like to sit next to anybody here. On the local trains the seats are in blocks if 4 (Two seats facing two other seats), and what usually happens is that people will primarily try to sit in an empty block (on a seat next to the window) the next person after that will sit on the opposite side next to the aisle. Once those two seats are taken it seems people would rather stand than sit next to somebody else, leaving half of the seats empty.

Not here though. There are rare exceptions where the seats are arranged as you say. They are close enough that your knees touch the person before you if you're over 5' tall. Bloody genius who thought of putting them that way.

this makes perfect sense for me. Then the occupied seats should be given to elderly, women, and children.

Why not give them the vacant seats? Sitting in the occupied ones would be rather uncomfortable for both parties.

The vacant seats are supposed to be left vacant. So, if an elderly person is standing, then you get up and offer to let them sit in your seat.

Well, it was put up on demand. I don't want the site to lose traffic just because I took down my pic.

Well, why would anyone downvote that?
I kinda have a good guess as to who he is. Very few Indian CPians write good English with a british-slant and the fact that he's a little overly sensitive to potential racism has backed up my guess. That closely matches his character (historically speaking)

Well, you can't ever out-"be racist" an Indian. We invented racism

Excuse me? I'm American, which means we invented everything (including racism) (unless you can prove it) and do it better than everyone else.
