A couple things I'm surprised are missing / lacking from their spec:
USB ports?
GPIO / SPI interface?
It looks a like a cool product, but I wouldn't consider it a rPi opponent/competitor in that particular market if all it's providing is 8 digital I/O lines.
As to running Windows, hmm, ok, but I find the support for Linux/Python on rPi, Beaglebone, etc., to be excellent, and I'm quite content writing Python (and even C code) for hardware interface stuff.
I also wonder about power consumption.

Looking at the board, it says USB 3.0 and there seems to be 2 ports next to the LAN ports. Also there is a jumper that says GPIO_SET so maybe GPIO is there. Noticed there is a SIM slot in the middle too.

They appear to've updated the spec page since you commented. The images are now showing 2 blue USB ports (presumably 3.0), and list "Digital I/O 8-in/8-out".

I am in the process of cloning (as a C++ guy, I know what the proper term is) over large (multi-GB) directory trees from the system drive [C:] to an external drive. The number of dirs & files and the Size is the same, but the Size on Disk is different. Could it simply be that different hardware will allocate the same amount of space of each file differently? Do I have a frag problem? Do I have a disc error? (The external drive is brand spanking new, but the system drive is 2+ years old.)

One possibility:
The disks may have different storage unit sizes. I believe the size on the disk is the number of storage units occupied, multiplied by the size in bytes of one unit. The final unit occupied by a file is rarely fully occupied. The unused part of the final unit is "wasted".

Differing "Block Size", "Cluster Size", or in the Format dialog in Windows, "Allocation unit size", all refer to the same thing.
You don't have a problem at all.

As already said, you most likely copied the files to another volume that has a different block / allocation unit size.

Another complication to watch for:
the source may have junctions and/or shortcuts which if not tested the cloning process would probably copy as unique separate instances of the same original file/folder.
You must test FileAttributes.ReparsePoint. - for junctions you have to re-create brand new instances from scratch of that same shortcut/junction on the destination - they can't be copied even if using kernel32.dll CopyFile().
(See codeproject.com/Articles/15633/Manipulating-NTFS-Junction-Points-in-NET - some sloppy code and it's missing recreating the PrintName info, but with a bit of fixing/cleaning up does the job.)
In the User folder(s) for instance there are junctions that create circular/infinite references if blindly followed as ordinary folders.
Note: Applies to shadow copies too - which I'm sure you're using to avoid errors on locked/in-use files.

This week my hardware lust flared up, the drooling set off by another expat selling real cheap (as in 30~40% less than similar on EBay):

Once I laid eyeballs on the beast, its hide kind of glistening in its brushed-whatever skin .. saw it boot Win10 Pro in a flash ... fell into the brilliant rich colors and crispness of that screen ...
Okay, done deal (so what if I live on soy-milk and cheese another three months ?).
And now, once again, I have that fantasy that I could get all my apps installed on said beast easily as I can back up my disk of the current beast with Win, or AOMEI Pro; if only all the little drivers would update for my current devices in a trice; if only all the whatever bloatware Lenovo added on would just bow out politely.
It doesn't hurt to dream, but, it is an excellent way to get nothing done.

Lenovo offer two solutions to get drivers for your laptop:
- web site as all the others.
- two apps:
-- Lenovo companion.
-- Lenovo system update.
Both apps work perfectly and allow you to choose between critical, recommended and optional updates.
And if you have a windows professional operating system you should have not a lot of bloatware... in my case almost 0 in my thinkpad t460s...

You should know that "system update" is the old version and that "Lenovo companion" is the newest one, so you don't need both of them at the same time.
In both programs you can get a changelog for that proposed update...
It helps a lot to find the right software for your PC.

At one office I visit they just picked up few new lenovo's - like almost every laptop manufacturer there's at least half a dozen other manufacturer crapwares installed - even one that had a crapware to ask you to 'register your new lenovo [on the website]' - which did shut up but didn't actually go away even after they registered that new lenovo.

I have a Dell Precision M3800 with these specs and discovered, at that resolution, the text is unreadably small! I had to change the text size to 125% and the screen resolution to 2048x1152 so I didn't need a microscope. 
That, and 2 large 1920x1080 monitors as my main displays, I shove over app that I'm not using onto the laptop screen. Blazing fast machine though, with the 16GB RAM and SSD's. And quiet too, hardly ever hear the fan engage, except when W10 is updating something and hogging 25%+ of the CPU. 
Why "Windows Driver Foundation" takes up 6% when idle, and 25% or more when doing whatever it's doing, is annoying. When I was running W7, the average CPU was 2%.
Sorry, didn't mean to turn this into a W10 rant.
