I'd love to see you use "8" in binary or octal! 
There is a decimal solution, which is what I was looking for - but I'll take what works, provided there are eight 8s, addition only, and the total is 1000.

One of the mods I use in Minecraft is called PlusTiC, and it is an addon to Tinkers Construct (TiC). TiC allows players to create various weapons and tools, and customize them endlessly using Modifiers. Each material (iron, gold, etc) has Traits, and one of the traits added by PlusTiC made me laugh:
