Firefox is the only application that I hear there is a new version of and think "damn it, not again...". You had me worried for a second, but it hasn't tried to update yet so it's all good for now. (And I'm seriously considering downgrading to 14 and staying there, I hate 15's search and URL bars not clearing the placeholder text when I click them...)

i've been thinking the same (somewhat) lately. (i haven't actually updated.)
i haven't noticed the search or address problems but memory. (tho i think firebug is a bigger culprit than ff.)

If you have 15, clear your search bar so the placeholder text (e.g. "Google") appears, click away, then click it again. The "Google" stays, you can't select it of delete it, but the most annoying part (to me) is that it makes it difficult to tell if you managed to actually click the box or not, the disappearing text was a great indicator. And this is apparently and intended feature, which makes me wonder what the person writing the requirements was smoking
EDIT: Looks like there's a fix for it now, found here[^] for anyone interested. Doesn't conflict with my installed theme either. An interesting note: I found it on a bug report, a lot of users have submitted this behavior as a bug.

actually i did notice that. i've seen it happening on websites too. it is a bit counter-intuitive.

What does that mean? To me it suggests browser affinity, or are they advertising that Firefox implements these features as part of it's standards compliance?

Wasn't Version 16 recalled because of a security issue ?

Yes, they are advising to downgrade to 15 if you are up there already.

I don't know about CSS but, I am using jQyery animations in my web application, and Firefox 15 can't handle them properly (they are like 3-5 fps), IE9 does good job when there are less elements to render, Chrome does the best job no matter how many, it just renders them fine.
And that random pause (cant even move the mouse) every now an then with FF15 is just crazy. since v9.0 they are going downhill (I had to actually figured it out that version, because the only version came to my mind before v15 was v4.5 ).
It is on my PC just for cross browser testing. otherwise I dont want it.
Feels Like Weight = Firefox > IE9 > Chome.

For a couple of hours yesterday version 15.something seemed to have broken the "open in new tab" functionality. It updated me again and suddenly it worked. This is getting ridiculous.

hummm...interesting. I did notice firebug update also, I wonder if that was the culprit.
