Apple Maps is "life-threatening" to Australian motorists[^]
A couple of weeks ago I had an argument with an Apple Fanboi who claimed that everything Microsoft releases is flawed and Apple would never do that.
I tried to point out Apple Maps, but he then moved on to simply claiming Apple products are exciting to use and that isn't true of any other technology company.

You can't deny that having no food or water in blistering heat would be exciting.

How many flawed technologies are life threatening?
I mean the guy has a point - Apple maps is way up there on the 'thrill sport' list.

Using logic in argument with fanboi... that's where you went wrong...

I found my first Maps flaw a couple days ago. The maps wanted me to do this crazy loop around a road that would have brought me straight to my destination. As I drove down that road, the Maps app showed the road as ending about half way through my journey on it.

Apple's maps are obviously flawed.
Apple products in general are not perfect. Apple sets high standards for themselves and people who buy Apple products come to expect high quality. Normal people accept / admit that Apple products are not perfect. Fanbois do not.
That being said...
0. M$ zealots and Penguinistas are equally moronic when it comes to Microsoft products and Linux. Normal users understand that neither is perfect.
1. No mapping solution I've ever used is 100% perfect... Google included. I've used Garmin and Tom-Tom GPS devices that couldn't find my house when I was parked in the driveway.
2. Apple being the big consumer device manufacturer puts them under the microscope & makes them the big target for the press. Not unlike Microsoft with it's big products (Windows & Office).
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. ~ George Washington

Re. point (1), there's a difference in scale here. They mislaid your house, iMaps (or whatever Apple call it) mislaid an entire town, by 40-50 km!
