Okay why do these occupy the covers of books like "Learn XYZ, Master ABC" all programming books? It's to say the book's contents would go extinct soon?
Or Dinos do programming too ?

(BTW Dinosaurs did not go extinct, they are all around us).

Are they the dinosaurs, the fish (who've out lasted numerous air-breathing orders of phylum Chordata), or the vegetables, er, plants?

LMAO ever hear of FORTRAN? When COBOL was born, FORTRAN was nearly in high school, and we have a number of FORTRAN programmers here.

Not exactly sure what you mean.
O'Reilly has a specific policy about putting animals on their covers and there is a page in the book that explains it.
Other than that I can't recall seeing other books with dinosaurs on them, not to the extent that it is normal.

Because they're written by people with the wrong kind of creativity for designing book covers.
Mind you, I'd like to see someone with the right kind of creativity for designing book covers actually write a programming book -- NOT!
