This isn't OP bashing, I'm not even going to tell you which member posted it, or what question they posted it in.
Just as I thought I'd heard every strange request, comes this:
"hello i wanna compile this dual pivot program but Turbo C++ don't running in my computer.
could someone run it for me?"
Followed by a single function, with no data to pass through it.
Is it just me that thinks this a little ... odd?
Do you think he wanted a list of the compilation errors? Compiling by email. Novel idea!

Certainly getting lazier.

No. I think he means that he wants to compile his code, but he has no Turbo C++ compilers installed.
In some cases, my signature will be longer than my message...

And what would you do under those circumstances?

Installing a Turbo C++ combiler.

Well, it's good to compile against a number of compilers to be sure the code is portable. If he wants to compile with VAX/DEC/HP C/C++ he'd pretty much have to send it to me.

You keep a PDP-11 in your bedroom?

A MicroVAX and two AlphaServers; nice and toasty warm on a cold rainy day like today.

I am glad I don't have your electricity bills! Those must be expensive storage heaters...
Um...why?

You still have an active VAX? Ha ha ... ummm oh well I guess I still had a working PDP-11/05 until a few years ago.
... you might have some code on your machine that I wrote. I was a bit active on Usenet back in my VMS days...

He has his reasons, in my opinion.

"Once you learn Lisp, you will understand what is lacking in most other languages."
I had a semester of Lisp; it's ridiculous. Probably suited to something, but not general software development. Other languages don't "lack" whatever Lisp has; they are just better suited to more common tasks.
"When you start a Lisp system, it enters a read-eval-print loop"
That sounds like Ye Olde VAX BASIC's interactive mode -- DEC/HP BASIC has since dropped it.

Lisp is one of those highly overrated languages with an overly vocal (but small) group of fanboys that is very popular in ivory towers but not in the real world.

Ah, blurring the line between boffinry and buffoonery.

Autocad used to be made in Lisp if I remember correctly.
Explains a lot.
