When you realise at 4.20pm that there are two companies that have not had their quarterly VAT returns completed, and that today being the 7th of the month is the last possible day to do the return before a fine is issued there settles upon one a morbid dread.
This slowly turns to panic as one realises, also, that it is likely to take a couple of hours.
There is a wonderful sense of peace and goodwill when one then manages to do the job in about 20 minutes because, thankfully, one of my elves had done all the prep work so I just needed to add the last few items and calculate the intercompany trading figures.
That Elf's name is going in the book.
(This is a good book, the one that rewards those at Bonus Time).
