Normally, I'd object to diluting beer on religious grounds but I guess we're talking about Coors here, so that doesn't apply. Still sounds utterly horrible, though!

Just a little thing I learned in Germany. Any pils will do, of course. But you can't drink too many "Diesels".

Ah, curious. Just did a quick Google on diesel and it tends to come back with lager/cider/blackcurrant which is something that I've always known as a snakebite and black. I've certainly never heard that called diesel in the UK.
As to the coke and lager version - I've never seen anyone order one so difficult to know what it would be called here.
We were having a discussion in the pub the other day about mixed drinks that under-40s would be unaware of:
1) Mickey Mouse - half and half lager and bitter - really a product of the 70s/80s brewing cartels producing so much truly awful keg bitter, the lager killed the taste to some extent. No idea why it was called Mickey Mouse.
2) Brown and mild - a hideously sweet concoction that's kind of redundant now that barely anyone makes mild.
3) Barley wine and lager - used to be a perennial favourite amongst female alcoholics who wanted to reach their destination in a hurry.

Light and bitter was also quite popular in the late 60s.

Maybe the pils/coke was just a regional thing. Although at this late date, I don't remember if it was Berlin or Rheinland-Pfalz. 
Though even if it was the Pfalz, it might have been a DDR thing, since the owner of the pub I spent most of my time at was from the East.

Apparently I have more respect for urine than do you - although I couldn't say from any urine-based experience if your comparison is accurate.

Actually I'm shocked. I bid on a software project and was awarded the project by a company in India. They even paid half up front!
When was the last time that indian workers were displaced by an American?

My rates were well above what I thought they could afford, but I{m happy toi bewrong.
My normal process is to estimate my effort and cost, then double it and newgotiate from there. In this case they accepted with no nogotiaition and sent patment once I assured them I knew how to do the work.
It{s basically a modification of part of what I did for my PHD work, so I can do it.

Yes, actually, they tried it themselves and I even gave them the literature references , but they were unsuccessful. So far the manager has made 2 trips from india to talk bwith me ans went with me to California to measure some oilfield data.and discuss the details. I evcen gave him a copy of an article that describes the algorithm.Now they want me to make a trip to india to discuss the followup projects.
