I have been doing bit of freelancing from couple of years. But I always, wanted to run my own software company. Today my proposal for a big project got accepted and am very excited.
2 Developers already working for me, but looks like need to hire more.
Yay.. time to celebrate this weekend I guess.

Congratulations! ...the feeling of running your own company and being successful is unlike no other... I'm still working on mine...

I agree but I sold mine. I am no businessman

There's also that... you may find it's just not for you.

I am glad I did it though. My software won awards and got me a very good job at the company I sold the business to. I just had no interest in the business side of it. I kind of knew that would be the case before I started but I rather hoped I would just settle into the role but it never happened. I made some decent money out of the sale and I enjoyed my time as my own boss so it was worth doing.

I'm looking forward to some quality rants out of you in the next couple of months.

Thanks,
You will be surprised but am still an employee (playing safe) and just going to use my freelancing time to run a business. Not an easy job at all. But it's fun at the moment as it's just a beginning.

Congratulations, Andy! I hope this is the beginning of a long run of happy years, doing your own thing, and dealing with personnel issues
Will Rogers never met me.

Well done mate, do enjoy the early period while it is still fun to chase the contract/jobs and the running of the business has not ground you into misery. Like RugbyLegue I got out of my own company many years ago. If you are not at least part businessman it is a right royal PITA.
I bless the day I gave it up and went back to contracting.
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity

Not an easy task. But when you win a project, it's a great feeling. I am still an employee and playing safe. But coming from a business background, I think business is in my blood.
Hoping for best but unless am not 100% confident and have got enough client base, am no way leaving my full time work.
