I used to be smug claiming I didn't watch the telly, but not even that is true anymore as I sit with the kids and watch Sandman before they're going to bed.

Which is the best one is hard to say, it may depend on your specific interest.
Yep, it will be quite cold, especially in the mountains. I'd recommend you a location in the mountains since there will be snow, in the lower areas there may be only cold rain and fog.
