I'd GOTTEN the impression that he's close to admitting that he's been wrong all along. (That should have GOTTEN get his attention).
BTW, there are rules for highlighting the word "gotten".
0) You can't highlight or otherwise embellish the word "gotten" unless used within the normal framework of a sentence. Doing so when you merely reference the word (usually contained within quotes) is not proper.
1) Embellishment must must include bold, italics and the big tags at the very minimum.
2) If you're concerned that Chris won't notice the word "gotten" in your message, more garish embellishments of the word "gotten" might be called for, such as direct font size manipulation, and or a color change (for an example refer to my use of the word "gotten" above).
Remember, no itch he can't scratch is worth the webs site it's written on unless everyone's GOTTEN to the same place mentally as far as the rules are concerned.
