I've done an extensive bit of research into the "Griffs" points.

When I began my research I was enthusiastic because I thought the story I would uncover would be an inspiring rags to riches tale that might prove suitable for the big screen. However, as I began to peek beyond the façade it soon became clear that not all was as wholesome as it appeared. There is corruption in the Lounge.

It is true that "Griff" began his career as a poor child in search of his elusive father. The days of shining shoes for a nickel at the bus depot are substantiated by several witnesses - even an article in one of the local papers is accompanied by the photo of a dirty faced kid hard at work. I've no doubt that his recollection of his early years, if somewhat romanticized, are reasonably factual.

What is strangely absent in all of the breathless media accounts about his meteoric (their word, not mine) rise to power is a serious look at what I call the 'silent years'. The account ends with his acceptance as a job at a local soup kitchen and picks up again with his stunning performance at Victoria Palace Theatre. What is publically known about his career is all bookends - I appear to be the first reporter to actually open one of the books on the shelf.

Now I don't want to smear the man and I'm willing to keep most of the information I've uncovered private. I don't do this for his sake, but rather, for the sake of the dozens of emotionally traumatized women I've interviewed in the past two weeks. I was able to have a few conversations with Bernie Beckle, the "Griffs" former agent, before he was found facedown - partially buried in chalk down in Dorset. The pentagram carved into his forehead baffles the local police but having familiarized myself with the "Griff" the meaning is clear enough.

I feel I've done my part here.
I leave the rest to management.
