Let's make it a wide margin
loud = F
hesitate = ER
snarls = MATS
endure = LAST
alternative = OR
energy = E
that lot = THEM (around ORE)
FERMATS LAST THEOREM, for which he had a marvellous proof, but the margin of the page was to small to contain it, as any fule kno!

His request approved, the News photographer quickly used a cell phone to call the local airport to charter a flight.
He was told a twin-engine plane would be waiting for him at the airport.
Arriving at the airfield, he spotted a plane warming up outside a hanger.
He jumped in with his bag, slammed the door shut, and shouted, 'Let's go'.
The pilot taxied out, swung the plane into the wind and took off.
Once in the air, the photographer instructed the pilot, 'Fly over the valley and make low passes so I can take pictures of the fires on the hillsides.'
'Why?' asked the pilot.
'Because I'm a photographer for a News Channel', he responded, 'and I need to get some close up shots.'
The pilot was strangely silent for a moment, finally he stammered,
.
.
'So, what you're telling me, is . . . You're NOT my flight instructor?'
PS. Leslie Nielsen may have been the pilot or the photographer!

It's generally redundant to say a recruiter sucks, but TekPartners takes scumbaggery to a new level.
I verbally accepted an offer last Wednesday for a contract on the other side of the country. Next day, a fantastic local opportunity pops up. This prompts my kids (all are now out of High School) to confess that they really didn't want me to take the contract, but thought I'd really wanted it and so had kept their mouths shut. To allow for an interview, I told TekPartners that I needed to push an orientation back a day. They freaked. After so many calls and emails, I told them I was taking the weekend off to think and discuss my options with my family and best friend and that I'd block all calls except from that group. I added that I'd give a definitive answer on Tuesday.
This morning (Monday) my first message was from TekPartners telling me that they withdrew my offer because their client wasn't my highest priority.
This was the last insult in a long line of things I'd tolerated from these idiots.
(EDIT: I agree with the criticism that I shouldn't have given the first verbal acceptance and very much like the suggestion to ask for an offer in writing before agreeing to a job. However, the client in question is constantly interviewing and hiring candidates, so nobody lost a chance because of my initial acceptance. In fact, one of the reasons I'd been so hesitant is because it seemed they just wanted warm bodies with some coding skills--replaceable cogs if you will. In addition, the recruiter told me several times that I could take the job and leave at any time since it was a contract and the state in question has at will employment. Finally, asking for a few days for familial reasons isn't narcissist or being an egotist; it is a normal human thing and punishing someone for not putting employment ahead of family is pretty vile.)
