It is, and education has been mismanaged at least since I was at school by ministers of various political persuasions.
But Gove was a particularly 'orrible incumbent and his removal cause for celebration.
There is an excellent letter from a primary school to its pupils that has gone viral today which sums up exactly what those in charge of education do not understand about it.

Esther McVey is the stand-out one for me. Her only discernible attribute AFAICT was that she was mildly-photogenic enough to have had a TV career. About 20 years ago. I've yet to hear her speak as a politician and spout anything other than unthinking rhetoric. Plus a Scouse Tory sticks in my craw more than I care to admit.

They're losing some big-hitters with seemingly no-one to replace them, at least we can take heart that the left-overs & newbies are now no longer interested in running the country, but in the business of getting re-elected.

Following that logic, the sane thing to do is to ask the Germans over to run our country. The UK hasn't been properly governed since the 60s AFAICT, whereas Germany just goes from strength to strength.

if you look at history you will find that a lot of Germany's resurgence is down to they way they spent the Marshall plan money, investing in infrastructure and its manufacturing base whilst the UK spent its money on the NHS and social reform

I'm proposing a more centrist government rather than the aping of US (increasingly right-wing) American Republican politics and it's dogmatic adherence to the idea that a totally free market will not lead to the sort of corporate greed and corruption that lead to the crash we saw in 2008.

the problem is that we don't have a government at present what we have is a party that is having to submit to black mail of a minority to be able to govern,
the problem is that the choice is not what we currently have and a centralist government but is between what we have and a union driven government and that will destroy our recovery far quicker and effectively than any corporate greed
