That's a Jacket, or Baked Potato[^]: it's cooked a lot longer and slower than a boiled potato and it retains it's skin - which goes all crispy and tasty. The inside is light and fluffy, and with a little butter, maybe some cheese, it's a Comfort Food meal all on it's own...
For best results, cook in the ashes of a bonfire, or an oven if you must, but never, ever eat one that has been in a microwave.

When I read German Sausage with a Jacket and clicked on a provided link i was expecting to see a sausage. But what did I get ? A potato.

I just remember this, because I'm sitting in front of some part of my own code that is three or four years old.
Ok, to see it positive: I learned a lot in the past years.

I still occasionally dig into C++ code I wrote 10 to 15 years ago - while parts of it have me scratching my head the majority is perfectly ok
The Lisp code I wrote 10 years ago has me completely baffled

May be that your style was already "adult". I changed my style fundamentally... and that was a good thing 
Just to give you an idea about what I'm talking here:
- WinForms instead of WPF
- No Commands
- No Bindings
- A lot of click handlers
- Not a bit of separation between view and model
...

I still go to the pub with some of the guys from my first coding job, who are still there, and know for a fact that most of the code I wrote back then is still in use
Gives me nightmares!

It feels like beeing on the couch by a psychiatrist that forces me to think back to something that I successfully drunk away

Some of the samples of code that I wrote years ago were things of beauty - they were lean, efficient, mindful of every last clock cycle and optimizer trick that I could employ. It's sad to see how flabby my code ended up becoming with the advent of frameworks - it became too easy to rely on a potentially inefficient API implementation, rather than coding up a tighter implementation of my own.

On the other hand, I feel like optimizing code has now become less relevant than transparency.
