...how Microsoft makes it so hard to do simple stuff in Visual Studio. My current pain point is creating project templatse, especiily with multiple projects in a solution. I've found some sketchy docs, but nothing yet to the depth of info I think I need... They've had almost 20 years to get it right, and still we knock around, having to dicovere sh*t on our own...

I don't think a lot of shops/devs create custom project templates much. I could be wrong. However, if I am correct, that would explain why it still doesn't work...I think.

We are using our own project templates - it was a PITA to create them, and now a PITA to maintain them across the versions of VS... The real problem is that there is no real documentation about it, like Microsoft says it is not your job to create templates - we did all of it for you...

It's not too much of a pain if your solution has one project.
Fortunately, VS2015 and VS2017 are compatible in terms of templates, but I have read that Microsoft has realized they made it somewhat more palatable than usual, and intentionally broke compatibility again in VS2019.

I have to admit that i miss the newsgroup "block user" function, too, but this is a web board; it's the same for everyone -- it's not delivered to you as individual messages, so you can't block only some of them.
