I recently got voted up on a Lounge message and my rep points went up by 20 (or 25) points (I think).
Is everything working ok with the points system?

BTW - I dont mind if they aren't - I just went up by 20 points Smile | :)

There is one small issue with points being awarded in the wrong category - but in your case it could simply be a platinum level member upvoted you.

Wow - that is cool. I did not know that. I just thought points were awarded in the range 1 to 5.

Your message gets points in the 1-to-5 range.
Your message getting a 4 or a 5 also gives you 5 rep points in some category (depends on forum and message type), multiplied by the color factor of the voter.

Most of that is explained in the FAQ[^], IIRC the color factor isn't.

BTW: your auditor joke in the Lounge already has 24 votes!

Hey there

Let me explain my problem.

I've changed work recently and I am no longer able to set up my personal Email address at work as I used to.

So now when I post something in the forums and someone replies the Email notification goes to my personal Email address which I cant access while at work...

I could change my Email address to use the work one but then I'll have the same problem at home.

Could we get the option to set up multiple Email addresses for notifications to go to?

Just set it to a gmail account. You can get to that from anywhere.

An even more interesting idea - create a Weven gadget that displays forwarded messages from your email account.

I have access via a web portal, but then I might aswell refresh the forum page all the time...

And security is *VERY* strict here so I dont even wana try the gadget route... although I have to admit its a pretty cool idea Smile | :)

That runs the risk of forwarding stuff that shouldn't be going on a server ran by a server paranoid. Setting up a proxy gmail account that forwarded to both addresses might work though.

The problem is that CP has a habit of changing its address. In the last 5 years I've received email from all of these addresses:

There always is "codeproject.com" in the from-URL, and "[CodeProject]" in the subject line. That should be sufficient to filter unambiguously.

And when it isn't, you could use one e-mail account for receiving all CP stuff, then forward from there.

After about a week I got it to work, the problem was that at my new company we have a whole bunch of infrastructure in London that zaps incoming spam way before it reaches my inbox in South Africa and the verification E-mail to forward to my work address was flagged as spam. When we get a long and branching thread like this

(only more so), it can be very difficult to figure out what 'indent level' message x.1 belongs to. Is there any kind of visual hint that could be thrown to us mere mortals who don't have an imbedded vertical straightedge? I'm open to debate about what form this might take, but first, let's see if there's any/enough interest in the idea.

I believe this has been mentioned / asked before and Chris is / was working on something but the page load could be the problem.

The idea is / was to draw vertical line's.
