1. The navigation control(s) may include Date, and/or page number, and or offset rows number as criteria. Other filters may apply.
2. On a separate note: if the post is not worthy to read it twice, then it's probably not worthy to read it at all (with very little exceptions)

I don't understand how you're proposing to implement a UI to select page 5000. A text box input, say?
Regardless, it's a bad idea because a user has no idea, at all, what page a message is on. The only real way to get to a message is via a permalink to that message.

Hi Chris,
1. If my assumption is correct then page num is approx a quotient of that query param (rows offset) and number of records displayed per page (it's drop-down selectable).
2. I would agree that their might be better navigational, or filtering options, for e.g. based on the date of posting. I simply don't know internal details of your site implementation, but it looks like a simple parameterized SQL query can do the job.
3. Permalinks are fine; this suggestion is not a mutex to permalink, but rather a complementary one, useful for e.g. in case someone didn't make a permalink, and now trying to travel back in time to particular POI.

When I report a message, then in my recent reputation history I read:

But I didn't report a member, I reported a message. Is it just me?

I was reluctant to report this.
This [^] screen shot shows I was awarded rep points thrice for answering a question. Was it because the answer was posted on 12/12/12 at 12:12 PM.
Will i get some extra rep points for being honest and reporting this ?

I think you don't will get extra points, but perhaps this would be a good idea:

Although I think that doing it could help finding bugs, I also think that members should report them not because of a "prize", but just because it helps to make CP even better than it already is.

After posting a question tonight i realised I had found the Answer But didn't find a way to mark it as answered without possibly adding an answer and then possibly marking that as the answer.

If you have found the answer, then post it as a solution - that will at least remove it from the unanswered list. And it may help others with the same problem later.
If you get an email telling you that you can catch Swine Flu from tinned pork then just delete it. It's Spam.

And that's exactly what you should do. No point in marking a question as answered without providing the answer for someone else's benefit.

As it turns out when I went back to look at it using the link in "my Questions" it showed marked as Deleted, and it was gone from the main list. Which may be why it wouldn't let me mark the answer as answered. I sent Sean a note about it last night after posting here and discovering it was deleted somehow.

Looks that the site dirdown is showing copies from many articles in Code Project. However, they do not mention the original source or licence information etc (although the links are pointing back to CP).
For example, have a look at http://www.dirdown.com/list_of_Toturial_CSharp_downloads_42.aspx[^].
Doesn't feel quite legitimate or is it???
