Same thing happened to an older cousin of mine a few years ago, except he had just arrived in Cairo on holiday OMG | :OMG:

My mother had this surgery more than a year ago and she has recovered completely. The first few months of the surgery are very crucial and the patient must not exert themselves much. It is unfortunate that it happened to your mother. I hope she recovers soon and walks normally. Rose | [Rose]
