I made a batch of this for the office, on request.
It went faster than the bacon brittle. I couldn't stand it. But the girls in front office loved it.
Gotta make sure you get as much grease off the bacon as reasonable. It ends up making things a bit messy otherwise.

It looks like too much work. I'd just each the chocolate while waiting for the bacon to cook, then eat that too.

If you use low sugar dark chocolate I can see this being a good combination, although as I don't like bacon I wouldn't want it.
