using Pythagoras:
side = √((2r)2/2) = √2r
area = √2r * √2r = 2r2

Area of the square within circle is diagonal^2/2 == (2r)^2/2

I read this initially as "I can speak from personal experience."
I was about to ask you to expand on this and then realised that you used "Can't" and not can.
