I thought of this a couple of weeks ago. This way I can put my own satellite up with a small backyard-launched rocket and the satellite doesn't need so much power to keep it aloft. I think maybe Musk is copying my notes off of Google Drive.

Not an unreasonable premise, but it comes off as smug (and even slightly bitchy), so it will alienate the people it needs to speak to the most.
A little self-effacement would help, rather than highly and mightily telling people they're doing stuff wrong, but the writer obviously didn't want to do that.
[edit] I was unaware that it was written by a woman, because I know several males who would write it in exactly the same way.

The article seems good at first sight, but after reading it I just can't see it working even in a "2-men-shop" not to mention lager companies. Is it really dev's job to ensure (aka test) that app runs on wide range of environments? Isn't it what QA is for? Is it really dev's job to improve UI and measure the change? How about designers and UX specialists? How about A/B testing?
So we can fire whole QA team and save on designers, UX and possibly others because it's dev's job to write perfectly running code with intuitive user interface without any flows, right?
Good luck with that approach

The article's title is stupid. It seems what the author means is "Writing code is a necessary but not sufficient part of the process of developing a product that meets the customer's needs."
IMHO, a developer's job is to write extensible, performant, maintainable, testable and well tested code, that meets the requirements identified by the PM and implements (in the case of UI) the UX designed by the usability team. Of course, this assumes the existence of competent product managers, BAs and UX designers.
