If it's a driver issue and you're willing to spend a bit of money, the current version of Acronis's backup/imaging tools has a feature to inject drivers into an image while loading it on a new PC. YMMV but it worked well enough for me to get a Win7 image from my old i7-920 box to boot on my new i7-4790k system; although I did need to install more drivers manually to get it usable. I've seen a lot of people badmouthing the newest version of it; but when I asked what was the issue a few weeks ago the only thing I got was their free support was useless, and they'd demand more money if you needed help.

I've been using Acronis True Image Home since about version 9 back in 2006/7. Bought with the Add-on Pack to enable Universal Restore (what it's called) with it. Been upgrading every year since.
Moved several customers machines across to slightly newer hardware over the past year where they couldn't move to new hardware and Windows versions.
Could do this here for me, but I want to build the installation from the ground up, cause I actually think that a combination of hardware, drivers and software installed might actually be the problem.
Last week I sold off the hardware I was using for my CentOS box to one of the customers mentioned above. I currently have the HDD from the CentOS box in my old computer. When my weekend starts tomorrow afternoon I will connect it to a monitor and run it over the weekend to see if I have any crashes. If I don't then the hardware is not the issue.

If the OS's gone kaboom on old hardware I'd be reluctant to trust it fixed up and on a new box. I thought your problem was the OST file being locked to that install somehow and that bringing it back to life even briefly would make your data extraction much less painful.

The short version was I want/need to get my Contacts from the crashed computer. They are in an OST file from Outlook 2013 for an IMAP email account. So no Exchange and no Contacts on the server.
I can only find programs I have to pay money foor to get them out. I have not lost any email though.

My last McVisit was in Vegas, April 1999. I took one bite of, I think, a cheeseburger, retched and binned it. Haven't been back [Vegas or McD's] since and I'm happy with that state of affairs.

In Hungariaorszag, almost everything is closed on Sundays and Public Holidays. Unfortunately due to some weird interpretation of the definition for a restaurant, McD and KFC seem to open.

During a part of my life I don't look back on too fondly, I lived in an accursed state called West Virginia (not Virginia). At that time they had what were called "Blue Laws" - which, in a nutshell, were legally enforcing Sunday as the day of rest for all because the Christians insisted it be so. Businesses had to be closed.
Now, to your point:
Businesses had to be closed, but that didn't include restaurants, food stores and laundromats. For you see, when these people left church on their day for rest they may have wanted to have a Bar-BQ or picnic afterwards. Or do their laundry for work the following day.
So - the day of rest didn't apply to those places . . . those workers . . . much as you noticed. Because those that make the rules don't want to inconvenience themselves.
After I had been there a couple of years each county, with few exceptions, voted to remove said laws. I'd like to take credit for it but am too modest.

Probably because nothing would be able to open, ever. 
And what about old-folks homes? Hospitals? Fire services?
Eventually, there would have to be world-wide restrictions on when you could have sexual relations, so that children are born only on alternate days (even days of the month only, perhaps) so that shops could open on the other ones, and civilization wouldn't collapse because nobody could buy food.
Of course, first we would have to have a wave of purges of anyone born on a odd-numbered day - which might not prove popular...
